hmm, I'll see about that. To be honest, I've been focusing more on my guitar-ing than this. But demo, here we come! And (to complacate tifreak8x) I'll take a look at MMX right now!

Also, on a side note, I am working on a small Basic text editor, to write my tabs down on my calc. 4x6 characters only, so some of them are omitted. off and on.

The tab thing sounds neato, as a guitarist myself it's not much fun to try and draw tab scores when all you have is blank paper, this would be very convenient.

By the way, the word you were looking for was placate, which means to satisfy.

Good luck with the demo, I'm very much looking forward to this!

Beware that too many projects at once can cause project necrosis.

gah! Grammar fail! And I can't find the edit button on the school's computers dry.gif.

*catches luck* Thanks!
Project necrosis, eh? I'm not sure what that is, but I'll reply to it with "Not if you were trained by Chuck Norris himself!"

Patience, young padawan.

I hate giving out excuses for why I don't have a dmeo yet, but the reason is...

I am involved in a lot of organizations at school, like Jazz band, the musical, Computer Science club, Band, and that takes a large chunk of my time away, not to mention homework. Also, I am semi grounded (forgot why) and the computer is supposed to be off by 9 PM dry.gif. shhh... tongue.gif.
I also lost my flash drive so it's harder to transfer work from school to home, and I can't figure out a way to install TiEmu yet, but at least TIGCC works tongue.gif. shhhhh.... again.

does that work tongue.gif?

Anything involved with music grants you 100% pardon with me. I know exactly how demanding that stuff is.

OK, I'm officially dropping this project. I'm sorry, I just don't think I'll ever get around to finishing it.

I'm still messing with Mega Man X, though. I haven't touched the code in a few weeks though, because of academics and extracurricular activities and gf's. Once I get the sprites and tiles all put into files and compressed and I figure out how to do/organize sprite animations, everything else will progress much much faster.

That's a shame. What all did you have working for the Icarus engine, anyways? Anything you would care to release to the world?

No, not really. I'll release the code, sure, but I doubt it'll do anyone any good, because I was in the middle of rewriting everything.

I was working on drawing pyramids and more complex maps correctly, so that they could float. I also was adding to the algorithm so that it drew the walls in reverse order, from farthest away to closest, because before I'd had a problem with walls being drawn and this would solve that problem and speed up the process slightly.

The only chance I might have of finishing this is next fall, when I'm in college and I'm taking a computer science minor, because I just simply don't really care much for programming at the moment. It's really sad, but I have other things on my mind. If I was actively programming for a class every week, I'd feel more up to the task. I'm kind of in a programming depression tongue.gif.

edit: I know you're all really dissapointed too, so sorry. I know this happens a lot.

Hey no hard feelings. It happens to all of us! I know it's happened to me some times, although in different forms really, but in all honesty until programming becomes required of us by class or profession, it's hard to maintain interest sometimes when tons of other things are going on.

Of course, more often than not these phases aren't permanent at this stage quite yet smile.gif
