I have updated some files on the site, mainly my projects section that was.. way off. ^^;;
I also remembered I have a 68k file waiting for me to post to the archives, I am going to try really hard tonight to get that tested and posted, sorry for the delay.
Also, I need to update the pokemon screenshot page with the latest and greatest screenshots.
Anyone else see other errors or anything that I should address? |

I would like everyone to help me welcome Jeff Wilcox to TI-FW, his project being Corridor 99.
Once he gets his site set up, I will see about posting the link to it in here.
Make sure everyone gives him a warm welcome. |

The new year has just started, and here is some news to go along with it.
The mother of all TI sites, ticalc.org, has finally announced two new staff members in Travis Evans and Nikky Southerland. Their jobs will be to manage and maintain the file archives of the site. Hopefully this will help boost activity on the site, which experienced a serious lack of activity towards the end of 2008. Congratulations Travis and Nikky, and good luck keeping up with the archives.
Some members of the TI-68k community have come together and are now beginning development on a fork of the widely popular TIGCC IDE entitled GCC4TI. The development team is hoping that GCC4TI will be more community driven, so it is highly encouraged that you visit the project page. The team is also currently holding an icon contest for people to submit what they think the GCC4TI logo should be.
AaroneusTheGreat has been hard at work on DOA, and has finished designing a fourth level as well as modifying the third. Top that off with shaving off 6kb of RAM usage, and that is what I call some progress. Of course, what would really be amazing is if he released some new screen shots
I am sure that you are all familiar with the ticalc.org POTY contest. For programs to be eligible for the award, they must first have been featured. Well, in the 68k category there were 3 programs featured in 2008, and they all came from programmers here at TIFW! Congratulations to Ranman, who released Ultima V: Warriors of Destiny and Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, and Lachprog, who released Egypt for TI-68k. One of you two will have a POTY award to place on your resume sometime soon. It should be noted that if Egypt is announced as the winner, it will mark the second straight year Lachprog has won. But no matter who wins it, it will also be the second straight year for TIWF! Great work guys . For those of you who have not tried these wonderful games, I strongly encourage you to do so by following the download links at the bottom of this article.
Ah, and as a final tidbit of information, I now have a Titanium which means I have joined the 68k madness! I do have a secret project that I am working on for the 68k calcs, but as for now I refuse to release any information . Maybe someday I can catch up to Ranman, Lachprog, and AaroneusTheGreat and release my own featured 68k program
Well, that about does it. I wish you all the best of luck in fulfilling your New Year Resolutions . May 2009 be a remarkable year for the entire TI community.

Yeah, like, totally!
XD
Anyways, got some news to post.
I decided to make some time to do the validating members pruning. Holy crap! In the last 160 days, we have been slammed with bots. 1,910 of them, to be exact. So, you should now see a massive drop in member numbers If you were in the process of signing up, I am TERRIBLY sorry, but there is no way for me to do individual stuff. IF fails hard with some of this stuff.
I personally have gotten back into pokemon purple. I have restarted working on and planning the getting of your first pokemon, which will be nice and a slight pain in my butt at the same time, since that means the battle system is RIGHT after that. So, as I get that done and taken care of, I will probably showing random screenshots of pokemon (for the time being for testing purposes) knowing and using moves they shouldnt
Lachprog has posted some new awesomeness up in his sub-forum. His newest project and piece of art work is a Metroid clone for the 68k. You say: bah, Metriod clones have been announced all over the web for these calcs and no one has delivered. We ask that you send us your email so we can visit you and beat you until you become a babbling idiot. Check out the sweet, sweet screenshots here: http://tifreakware.ath.cx/index.php?showtopic=1385
Ranman has been hacking away at Ultima V, the greatest completed RPG for the 68k. There are a few glitches he is dealing with, and doing an overhaul to some aspects of the coding. Keep an eye out for his next update on that game.
Bronco has also came back, and has announced a complete restart of his project, Rohan. He is currently in the process of properly planning the story and how the code should work, so hopefully we will be seeing something more from him in the very near future.
Beyond that... If anyone has any projects that are getting updated, make sure to post up here so we know, and it can get posted on the front page of the site as well.
If anyone is interested in the position of gathering project news from across the community, that would be awesome too, just let me know. |
