Well.. not tons of progress yet. Still slowly writing out the code as it is on calc, spying small optimizations that can be done and doing them in progress. I can't really move forward until I get a better handle on these darned variables. :/

Maybe? I dunno. It really depends on what other troubles I run into and such. If things would just go smoothly and stop giving me troubles, then it would be much further along.

But, as of now, this is important so I *can* continue. >.<

That's true. I know things like this can be a real trouble. Especially in TI-BASIC where the only custom variables you can really have are lists. I'm sure you already have a project notebook that you can use to store what each varialbe functions as and stores. I have a couple of project notebooks actually. I just use single subject, college ruled notebooks. One for each major project, and then one that I use for various minor projects.

I forgot, aren't you using Celtic II?

I started going through the code for the items system, and what I see dismays me greatly.

Some may remember these:

Well, those look really good, don't they? however, they look -nothing- like the original item system. And I have come up with a way to redo the items system, in my head of course, that will greatly reduce the size of the program, and even how the lists work. I will worry about the implementation of this once I get through all the programs and get all the variables under control.

as a note to myself, lists for items system will be in the format of Item.Qty and will hopefully be easily able to move them around in the list.

Nice to see you working on this again wink.gif.

And lol at you always redoing everything. It's both what will make this game a classic and the reason it'll take so long tongue.gif.

lol, yeah, trust me, I know. XD

But, in the end, it will make the game a million times better than what it would be if anyone else was building it in the way I am, so.. =p

got all the code written out on paper and am now working on revamping how the variables are used. Just have to decide what should do what, and implement it. =]

I have a big secret to tell that I can't tell anyone...Just yet wink.gif

And that's the thing that really annoyed me on the z80 originally. The lack of good support for custom variables outside of lists. But, that was before I I realised that one could use a list to keep track of multiple values that have a similar purpose. Much easier at that point.

At any rate, I'm expecting more screen shots sometime!!! I'm really excited about this game. Gives me a way to play me some Pokemon in class smile.gif
