The first beta of the Super Mario 68K Level editor has been released!
With the editor you can create brand new maps and levels for the game. This is a beta version of the editor, but it supports most of the features in the game engine. But still, there are some stuff remaining to do. This will of course come in the future ;-) Download it here Also, a new version of the game has been released. |

Throwing it at my calc now, if I can remember how XD
Edit: Uhh... Readme states: Send the files: -editodat.ppg -cmntmplt.MLEV -wldtmplt.MLEV -editor.prgm -edit.ASM yet, the 89 folder has : cmntmplt edit editor wldtmplt edit is listed as a prgm file, and other three are TI Application Variables. Is there something wrong with the download? |

Absolutely brilliant... Although the controls take some getting used to.
I don't know if theres a problem but on my TI89 on the Level Map editor it wants to move 2 spaces whenever I click the ____ arrow key in any direction. |

Do you mean the controls in the dialog boxes or elsewhere? About the arrows: The cursor moves as long as you keep the key pressed. Do you think i should make them a little slower in the map editor, or move the cursor one tile for each key press? |

Yeah... Slow it down a bit. Because when I hold down any key for even the shortest amount of time it skips one space on the map in each direction making certain areas or options in accessible.

I have uploaded a new version of the editor. There are some small fixes, for example the cursor speed is slower now. |

I've started writing a tutorial on how to get started with making maps and levels. It will guide you through all of the parts of a level, like editing the tile map, adding enemies, selecting background, adding and editing triggers, flying platforms etc. I hope this will make the editor a little easier to use... Right now i'm just writing the text, but later i will put it together as a html document with some illustrations and screenshots etc. I just have to find a visual html editor that don't have only 10 days trial... The one i have now expired the second time i opened it |

Well, I recommend just using notepad and editing html directly... if you are still wanting to use a helper program... OpenOffice.org has a html page builder.
